Atlantic Technological University (ATU) is a multi‑campus public technological university in the west and northwest of Ireland, formally established through the merger of Galway‑Mayo Institute of Technology, IT Sligo, and Letterkenny IT. Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) provides a wide range of Further Education and Training (FET) opportunities across both counties, supporting learners, communities, and local industry with skills that meet regional and national needs.

Through the GRASP initiative, CMETB currently delivers Thermal Insulation Installation and Micro Solar PV programmes in Cavan and Monaghan, helping to build capacity in the retrofit and renewable energy sectors. CMETB is also planning to introduce the Domestic Heat Pumps programme in 2027, further strengthening green skills provision, and supporting Ireland’s transition to a low carbon future.
